Susan Cottle Alberto is a painter based in New York City and Northeast PA. Susan received her M.F.A. from The New York Academy of Art and her B.F.A. from Montserrat College of Art. Susan is currently Assistant Professor of Art at Parsons, The New School. Susan has taught at St. John's University and Continuing Studies at The New York Academy of Art. International appointments have included SACI, Florence, Italy, St. John’s University, Rome and Montserrat College of Art, Viterbo where she also served as Program Co-Director. Susan has organized and taught plein air painting workshops in New York, and Pinzolo, Italy and has exhibited in the US and abroad. Susan was a National Park Service Artist in Residence at Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. Susan paints en plein air and in oil and gouache. In the studio, she brings together the figure, places and objects in observed and imagined spaces.
