Stephanie Deshpande (b. 1975) is a representational painter living in northern New Jersey. She is best known for her psychological portraits and narrative paintings. Her work combines her love of realism with personal allegories.

 

Deshpande graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BFA in Painting and continued her studies at the New York Academy of Art, earning her MFA. She was awarded the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship to attend the Yale Summer School of Music and Art.

 

She is a Signature Member of the Portrait Society of America and has received recognition by the Art Renewal Center, Allied Artists of America, and Oil Painters of America. Her paintings are in several issues of Poets Artists Magazine included in The Peregrine Collection. Her work appears in the book 40 Contemporary Great Masters of Portrait Painting by the Editorial Staff of The Art of Watercolour magazine. It is part of the New Britain Museum of American Art Post Contemporary collection and has exhibited internationally at the MEAM in Barcelona.
