Elise Mills is a figurative artist working primarily in oil, pastels, and monotypes.
Elise earned her MFA in painting from New York Academy of Art and her BFA from Parsons School of Design.
Elise is known for her figures in environments.
Her art blends figurative elements with degrees of fragmentation and nature in an investigation of psychological and metaphysical realities. In juxtaposing figures with nature Elise examines her place in the world through what she observes. Contrasting moments in our shared existence reveal the resilience of life through opposites — light and dark or destruction and rejuvenation. Elise’s work is in public and private collections.
