My work explores perception and persistence. What do we create and what fragments remain? What are the indelible physical effects of our actions? In my work I seek to imagine and interpret the interior space of the body, its function and fragility.
Educated as a figurative artist in the tradition of working from life, I play with the idea of seeing what cannot be seen with our eyes, but only viewed through machines. How do we measure what we cannot see? Do we fight the frailty of the body? How do we translate trauma? Creating this work has allowed me to consider the physical body and to interpret and ultimately cope with its impermanence.
